Chicken and Brocolli Alfredo

This is a yummy pasta recipe. Enjoy it!

Ingredients

4 to 5 cups broccoli florets (from about 1 large bunch)
2 tablespoon olive oil
4 skinless boneless chicken breast halves, cut crosswise into 1/2-inch-wide strips
1 large red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 2/3 cups whipping cream
2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
3/4 lb penne or mostaccioli, freshly cooked (more…)

How much love is too much?

If you have ever thought that too much love can actually harm you child – you were probably right. In Italy, a Mamma has been accused of doting too much. Interestingly, Italy is quite similar to India and Pakistan in the sense that it is a norm in these countries that boys tend to live with their parents, well after their 20s. It is absolutely a part of the social structure which is essentially due to economic reasons as compared to religion.

In the idealized picture of the American heartland, baseball, mom and apple pie feature prominently. The Italian version? Soccer, spaghetti and, yes, la mamma. But in recent years, the folkloric image of the doting Italian mother has been joined in the national consciousness by something a tad less idyllic: the mammone, or mama’s boy, the hyper-coddled son (daughters are statistically less susceptible) who grows up so attached to his home, and to his mamma in particular, that he never really becomes independent or a self-sufficient man. Please help in this regard. I have read so much about miscarriages and all things that can go wrong in early pregnancy. But how long can I keep such a big news secret? Is it fair to the ones who love me that they don’t know about such an important facet of my life?

Impact of smoking on baby’s birth weight

Smoking is injurious in pregnancy alright. But are there serious statistics that support the fact that babies born to smokers have a lower birth weight? Does it help if you quit smoking during your pregnancy?
