You suddenly have all this extra responsibility. I’m lucky that I have family and good friends who were there to support me. I’ve got two brothers and an older sister, and we’re still quite close as a family.

We were always being told ‘we can’t afford it’ as kids. My dad, Ted, worked seven days a week as he had six mouths to feed. My mum, Nancy, had three or four part-time jobs, as well as trying to raise a family. I don’t know how she did it. (more…)

Sixteen years before her death captured the world’s attention, Diana’s 1981 wedding to Prince Charles was a defining  global event; we all watched as the shy young bride made her way down that aisle, trailed by what seemed like miles of white tulle. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were featured in the 2008 TIME 100 List for their continued efforts at actually trying to change things instead of merely talking about the world’s problems. Angelina Jolie is the Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency. She has won three Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and an Academy Award for her outstanding acting abilities. Jolie is a prime example of brains and beauty. She has promoted humanitarian causes throughout the world and is well-known for her work with refugees through UNHCR. (more…)
