Healthy Drink Ideas
Its a natural instinct to want to drink and eat healthy stuff for the well-being of yourself and the baby during pregnancy. As a doctor would say, its not about the quantity of food you eat but about its quality. Here and a few simple and healthy drink ideas that can be made at home at any time.
Carronge (carrots + orange juice)

Carronge is a drink that is a combination of carrots and oranges. You can use your fruit juicer to get the carrot juice. Its amazingly easy to do this. Take half a dozen carrots, peel off the skin, cut the carrots in small pieces and juice away! Fresh carrot juice has a gorgeous colour and texture. Add orange juice if fresh oranges are not available and for convenience. Mix these up while adding sugar to your taste. Add ice and blend it with the juice in a blender if you like your drinks cold. Enjoy a healthy drink which surely you and your baby will enjoy.

Health Benefits:
Carrots are an excellent source of antioxidant compounds and the richest vegetable source of the pro-vitamin A carotenes. These antioxidant compounds help protect against cardiovascular disease and cancer and also promote good vision. Remember how our mothers always insisted we ate loads of carrots for good eye sight. Oranges and orange juice are well known for its concentration of vitamin C and come with a multitude of health benefits.
Mint Lemonade (mint + lemons)

All you need for this yummy lemonade is fresh mint, lemons, sugar, salt and ice. Recipes usually don’t get simpler than this. Take a hanful of mint leaves and separate the leaves from the stems. Wash the mint carefully. Squeeze a dozen lemons (or less depending on how much lemon you like) with a squeezer or simply your hands. Make sure there are no lemon seeds in the freshly squeezed lemon juice as they would make the overall taste bitter. Pour the lemon juice in a blender. Add mint leaves, just a few spoons of sugar, hint of salt, and quite a bit of ice in the blender. Blend away! Taste the drink as it blends together to see if it needs more of any of the ingredients. Pour the mint lemonade in glasses or a jug and enjoy a refreshing summer treat!

Health Benefits:
Mint is known for its wonderful aroma, great taste, healing power, and its ability to settle digestive problems. Lemon is high in vitamin C and also prevents and treats many infections.
